MOVE: Journal of Community Service and Engagement

MOVE: Journal of Community Service and Engagement is an international peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing knowledge, practice, and innovation in community service and community engagement. The journal provides a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, community organizations, and other stakeholders to disseminate meaningful interventions that contribute to community empowerment, social development, and sustainable transformation.
MOVE welcomes high-quality articles that report the design, implementation, evaluation, and impact of community service and engagement initiatives. Submissions may address community development, empowerment, capacity building, social innovation, education and training, public health, economic development, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and other interdisciplinary approaches that respond to real-world community needs.
The journal places strong emphasis on novelty, innovation, creativity, measurable outcomes, and sustainable impact. Community service activities should not merely replicate established programs in different locations. Instead, manuscripts are expected to demonstrate a clear problem-solving orientation, a well-defined intervention strategy, meaningful community participation, and evidence-based outcomes that show how the intervention creates tangible benefits for the target community.
MOVE also encourages contributions that connect community-based initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Particular attention is given to initiatives that promote inclusive development, reduce inequality, strengthen community resilience, enhance local capacity, support environmental sustainability, encourage social entrepreneurship, and develop innovative solutions to contemporary social challenges.
As an open-access journal, MOVE is committed to providing free and permanent access to scholarly contributions in order to maximize their visibility, accessibility, and potential social impact. By bringing together academic knowledge and community-based practice, the journal seeks to strengthen collaboration between universities, communities, government institutions, non-governmental organizations, industry, and other development partners.
MOVE is published six times a year, in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
ISSN Information: E-ISSN 2808-2990 and P-ISSN 2828-4941.
