Allegation of research misconduct

The Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER) is committed to upholding the academic integrity and ethics of scientific publications. We follow international guidelines set  by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in dealing with any alleged violations of research and publications, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, dual submissions, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.

1. Reporting Misconduct Anyone (either readers, reviewers, or editors) can report alleged violations or fraud related to manuscripts that are being processed or articles that have been published in the Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER). The report must be submitted in writing through the editor's official email by including valid supporting evidence.

2. Initial Investigation

a. The Editorial Board (led by the Editor-in-Chief) will conduct a preliminary review of incoming reports or evidence.

b. The editor will contact the author in question to provide an opportunity to provide clarification or response to the allegations.

3. Investigation Procedures and Further Action If the initial evidence shows strong indications of a violation, the following steps will be taken according to the severity of the violation:

  1. Immediate Rejection: If a violation is found while the manuscript is still under review, the manuscript will be immediately rejected and returned to the author.
  2. Article Recall (Retraction): If the article has already been published, the journal will publish an official Retraction Notice that is indexed and directly linked to the original article, along with an explanation of the reason for the withdrawal.
  3. Correction/Erratum: If a minor error is found that is unintentional and does not damage the integrity of the main data, the journal will publish an official correction.
  4. Academic Sanctions: Authors who are proven to have committed serious violations may be subject to sanctions in the form of a ban on submitting to the Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER) for a certain period of time, as well as notification to the author's affiliation.
