Peer Review Process

The peer review processed by JABTER is Open Peer Review, where the reviewer and author are mutually known. These journals publish reviewer comments and previous versions of the manuscript alongside the accepted paper.

Waiting for Editorial Production Assistant Process

The Editorial Production Assistant will conduct quality checks on your article where you may need to provide further information before your article is submitted for Peer Review.

Waiting for Editor Assignment:
Your article has passed the initial quality check by the Editorial Production Assistant and is in the process of being assigned to the appropriate Editor who will evaluate your article for scope, quality, and suitability for the journal. Articles that do not meet these criteria will be rejected.

Waiting for Reviewer Selection:
Your article meets the scope of the Journal and has been approved for peer review. The Editorial Team is in the process of finding suitable external reviewers available to review your article. Your article may also be sent to relevant Associate Editors for internal review. For most articles, at least two reviews are required. Articles may be sent to multiple prospective reviewers until the required number is met.

Peer Review Underway:
Your article has reached the minimum required number of reviewers. Reviewers are given 8 weeks to submit their reviews of your article. In the event a reviewer withdraws from the process, the Editorial Team will initiate the reviewer selection process again.

Waiting for Editor Decision:
Your article has now received the minimum required number of reviews to make a decision. The Editor will consider the opinions of expert reviewers to make a decision based on acceptance, rejection, or revision.

In Production:
Your article has been accepted, and you will receive an email to confirm. Your article will undergo final quality checks and enter Production where it will be processed for publication. You will be emailed by the Production Editor with a schedule and provided with a link to the Publishing at Work platform where you can continue to track the progress of your article.

Completion Time:
While we aim to complete the peer review process in a minimum of 8 weeks, there may be instances where some reviewers are invited before the required number can be set, or when a reviewer fails to provide a review and the invitation process needs to be restarted.
