Authorship Criteria

The Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER) establishes authorship criteria to ensure that every individual listed as an author of an article has made a substantial scientific contribution and assumes responsibility for the published work. The determination of authorship must uphold the principles of academic integrity, transparency, accountability, and the ethics of scientific publication.

  1. Authorship Criteria

Every individual listed as an author of an article in the Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER) must meet the following criteria:

  1. Made a substantive contribution to the conception or design of the research, the execution of the research, data collection, analysis and interpretation of data, or the development of the article’s scientific content.
  2. Participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising the intellectual content of the article.
  3. Provided approval for the final version of the manuscript to be submitted and published.
  4. Agreed to take responsibility for the integrity of the scholarly work and to assist in ensuring that any issues related to the accuracy, validity, or research ethics are addressed appropriately.
  5. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editor throughout the submission, review, revision, and publication process. The corresponding author is also responsible for ensuring that all authors have approved the submitted manuscript, the order of authorship, and the final version of the article to be published.

  1. Authorship Order and Changes

The order of authors’ names must be determined based on an agreement among all authors, taking into account their respective contributions. Any changes to the list of authors, the order of authorship, or the corresponding author after the manuscript has been submitted must be accompanied by a clear justification and written consent from all involved authors, and must be approved by the editor.

  1. Unethical Authorship

The Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER) does not permit unethical authorship practices, including:

  1. Gift authorship: the inclusion of an individual’s name as an author despite them having made no significant scholarly contribution.
  2. Guest authorship: the inclusion of an individual’s name even though they do not meet authorship criteria—for instance, due to their position, reputation, or as an honorary gesture.
  3. Ghost authorship: the omission of an individual who has made a substantive contribution to the writing or scholarly development of an article, without any justifiable reason.

Individuals who provide only technical assistance, administrative support, funding, or general backing—but who do not meet the criteria for authorship—may be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgements" section, commensurate with the relevance of their contribution.

  1. Author Contribution Statement

Starting from the 2027 issue, the Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER) requires all submitted manuscripts to include an Author Contribution Statement to ensure transparency regarding the roles and academic accountability of each author.

Our journal adopts the international CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) standard to accurately define contributor roles. These roles include:

  • Conceptualization
  • Methodology
  • Validation
  • Formal Analysis
  • Investigation
  • Resources
  • Data Curation
  • Writing – Original Draft
  • Writing – Review & Editing
  • Visualization
  • Supervision
  • Project Administration

Manuscript Requirements: This section must be included within the main manuscript (before the bibliography/references), listing the authors' initials followed by their respective roles.

The author contribution statement must accurately reflect the actual contributions made by each individual. Including this statement does not exempt any author from the obligation to meet authorship criteria and approve the final version of the article.

  1. Responsibilities and Ethical Compliance

All authors are responsible for ensuring that the submitted article is an original scholarly work, free from plagiarism, contains no fabricated or falsified data, and has not been simultaneously submitted to another journal. All authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and adhere to relevant research ethics standards. By submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER), authors declare that the provided authorship information is accurate, that all authors have consented to the submission, and that every contribution has been honestly disclosed in accordance with the principles of academic integrity.

The Journal of Applied Business, Taxation and Economics Research (JABTER) reserves the right to request clarification or supporting evidence should there be any indication of a violation of authorship criteria, and will address such matters in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy.
