The Impact of Just in Time Implementation on Efficiency and Performance in Various Manufacturing Sectors: A Literature Review

Abstract
The current industrial development requires every company to have strategies to remain competitive and minimize losses caused by poor production management. One of the strategies that can be adopted to improve the sustainability of the production process is by using the JIT (Just in Time) method. This literature review discusses about JIT strategy across three manufacturing sectors, including automotive industry, garment industry, and culinary industry. The purpose of this literature review is to examine the impact of implementation of JIT concept on production processes in automotive, fashion, and culinary manufacturing sectors. The data used in this literature review were obtained from the Google Scholar platform using the several keyword. Based on the review of the three articles, it was found that the impact of JIT on manufacturing in the automotive, garment, and culinary sectors is highly efficient in eliminating excess raw material inventory costs. PT Chuhatsu Indonesia successfully saved the raw material inventory costs up to IDR 11,575,218.9 in 2016, IDR 12,594,887.78 in 2017, and IDR 12,488,051.43 in 2018. Winonamodest also successfully minimized raw material inventory costs from a total of IDR 5,166,375 to IDR 2,713,776.380 meanwhile, Bakso Bontotangnga was able to reduce total inventory costs by Rp 8,115,672.77. Hopefully, this literature review can be further examined and serve as additional information in the field of industrial engineering.
